Former Chester County supervisor finally sentenced in court for drug trafficking charges
Former Chester County Supervisor Shane Stuart has been sentenced to 10 years on drug trafficking charges. This according to the Chester News & Reporter, it happened on Wednesday. In the court precedings, Stuart spoke and addressed law enforcement, the people of the county and his loved ones. He also said he was sorry for comments he made regarding SC Attorney General Alan Wilson.
Stuart was in his second term as the County supervisor when he was indicted back in 2020 for trafficking and distributing meth. He would later plead guilty in October of 2022 however he was not immediately sentenced on the trafficking meth charges. He was part of a significant drug trafficking organization and used his job to cover up crimes. It was revealed that Stuart will have to serve 85 % of this sentence including time already served which would be about seven years.
