Rock Hill High Set To Hire Gaffney Defensive Coordinator As Its New Football Coach

Sources have told WRHI that Randy Birch is the new head football coach at Rock Hill High. Birch comes to the Bearcats from Gaffney where he served as defensive coordinator. He has been a coach with the Indians since the 2013 season. While at Gaffney, he was DC for the 2021 5A State Championship team. Birch is a 2008 graduate of Western Carolina, where he played football. Prior to that, he attended Burns High School in Shelby. He received his Masters Degree from the American College of Education in 2015. Birch takes over for Bubba Pittman, who stepped down after 10 seasons last month. There will be a formal press conference on Thursday at 2p to introduce Birch.
