The Town of Fort Mill will have more parking coming its way with demolition of Hardee’s coming soon

The Town of Fort Mill has announced that its purchasing property at the intersection of Tom Hall and Springs Streets to create additional parking in the downtown area. The acquisition, which was previously home to the now closed Hardee’s Restaurant, follows a multi year search for options to expand the opportunities for parking with the growth of downtown. Demolition is set to happen soon. Town impact fees have been used to help fund the purchase. Free parking is available on that property today to help alleviate the displaced parking and congestion
from the Duke Energy project around the Main Street corridor. Plans include upgrading the property by removing the vacant building, paving areas where needed, and
landscaping the property. This work will begin once the Duke Power project is completed. Once finished,
the property will offer upwards of 70 new parking spaces for public use.
