Rock Hill Police responded to PNC Bank on India Hook Road for an Armed Robbery The suspect used a gun during the robbery and fled after being handed an undetermined amount of money. Once an officer was on scene, it was learned the suspect was a black male wearing black clothing. Officers in the Millwood Shopping Center (335 Herlong Ave) observed a male matching the suspect description on a bicycle. As officers attempted to stop the male, he got off the bicycle presenting a black handgun. Officers fired their service weapons, striking the male in the hand. The male dropped the handgun and fell to the ground. Officers approached the male placing him into handcuffs. The suspect was taken to Piedmont Medical Center where he was treated and released for jail. No officers were injured during the incident. The male was identified as the suspect in the robbery. The suspect’s firearm was recovered at the scene as well as the money taken from the bank. The Rock Hill Police Department is still investigating the incident


UPDATED-David Herbert Massie, 45, of Pennsylvania was the culprit. Massie will have a Bond Hearing later today for charges of Armed Robbery and Possession of a Weapon During a Violent Crime.
