City of Rock Hill names Lisa Brown officially as its new Economic and Urban Development Director

City of Rock Hill Names Lisa Brown the Economic and Urban Development (EUD) Director

 

Rock Hill, SC, June 29, 2023 – Today, the City of Rock Hill announced the permanent placement of Lisa Brown as the Economic and Urban Development (EUD) Director. Brown has served in this capacity in an interim role since March 2023.In her role as director, she will oversee EUD and serve as the Executive Director of the Rock Hill Economic Development Corporation (RHEDC). Brown will provide leadership to EUD and RHEDC as both work together to support the development of Knowledge Park, the Southside, area business parks, and important commercial corridors. As Executive Director of RHEDC, Brown will lead these efforts through the work of the board’s four main committees: Small Business & Entrepreneurship, Business Recruitment & Retention, Placemaking, and Workforce Development. In addition to her roles with EUD and RHEDC, Brown will continue to manage the City’s award-winning Strategic Planning efforts and Communications & Marketing.Brown has served the City of Rock Hill for over ten years, most recently as the Office of Strategy Management Director. She earned her bachelor’s degree in History and International Studies, as well as a master’s degree in Public Administration with a concentration in Public Finance at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. She is a Certified Government Finance Officer, a Local Government Leadership Institute graduate, and a Leadership ICMA graduate.“We are thrilled Lisa has accepted the role of EUD Director,” said City Manager David Vehaun. “Her background in strategic planning and finance gives her a strong foundation to work with existing customers and new prospects to ensure quality development occurs throughout our community.”
