US Department of Justice asks judge in bankruptcy court case to deny confirmation of proposal

The federal bankruptcy judge in the failed Rock Hill team headquarters project, is being asked by the U.S. Department of Justice to deny confirmation of the bankruptcy proposal offered by David Tepper’s company… The request is being made by a bankruptcy court trustee appointed by the DOJ to ensure that bankruptcy cases like this are handled to the benefit of all involved- including taxpayers … It’s unclear if the request made by the trustee will impact the planned “confirmation hearing” next Wednesday in Delaware bankruptcy court..The GT Real Estate proposal to the court would take away claims against Tepper companies involved in the Rock Hill project and give releases to other Tepper companies, without the consent of claim holders like Rock Hill, York County and area contractors, leaving them with potentially no voice in the process…
