Chester County Schools gets money for school buses

The Chester County School District is one of sixteen South Carolina districts receiving funding for brand new electric-powered buses as part of a federal grant. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has awarded South Carolina more than $58 million to purchase electric buses, as part of its Clean School Bus Program rebate competition.Chester County School District will receive funding for eight of these buses, a rebate amount totaling $3.1 million. “Additional funding will also be awarded for charging infrastructure installations. According to the EPA, all buses are expected to be delivered by October 2024.
