Rock Hill man arrested and charged with murder Saturday night at Lancaster Motor Speedway

Bryan Terrell Mitchell, age 37, of Rock Hill, has been arrested and charged with Murder and Possession of a Firearm during the Commission of a Violent Crime related to the shooting death of Rodney Tobias Cunningham Saturday night at the Lancaster Motor Speedway. About 5:00 AM Sunday Mitchell was spotted along Charlotte Highway just north of the new bridge construction and fled into the woods.
A SLED helicopter flew overhead. K-9 units from the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office and the York County Sheriff’s Office entered the woods and began tracking Mitchell in the and brough Mitchell in without incident. He will be jailed in the Lancaster County Detention Center and is set to appear before a magistrate judge at a later time. Mitchell’s motive for the shooting is unknown. It is also unknown whether Mitchell and the victim were acquainted. The investigation will continue.
