Terry Shamiek Tyler, 18 has plead guilty armed robbery, rape, and kidnapping in a 2019 sexual assault of a Winthrop student.
When the crime happened, Tyler was 16 at the time. He was charged initially with sexually assaulting a woman at gunpoint, and stealing the woman’s car. He was arrested hours later by Rock Hill police and confessed to the crimes. Tyler was denied bond and had been in jail since the arrest. He faces more than a hundred years in prison based on the possible max sentence on each charge. The sentencing has been set for August 16th.
