Several Rock Hill schools are under lockdown, as the York County Sheriff’s Office searches for a suspect. The York County Sheriff’s Office confirmed in a tweet that the suspect is possibly Tyler Terry, the subject the Chester County Sheriff’s office has been searching for. Terry fled the scene of a Tuesday evening police chase in Chester County, after firing at officers.

York and Chester Police Departments earlier today connected Terry to the May 2 murder of 35-year-old Thomas Durell Hardin on Lowry Road in York, along with two separate shootings.

The suspect is described as a 5″7 black male in his mid 20’s with black clothes and no shoes. The suspect reportedly ran from deputies.

Rock Hill high School, Castle Heights Middle School and Independence, Mount Holly and Lesslie Elementary Schools were all on lockdown at some point yesterday. Police assisted in the release of students at Rock Hill and Castle Heights.
