Friday Lancaster Avenue Shooting

On Friday afternoon a Rock Hill Police Officer, in an unmarked vehicle, witnessed suspects in a silver Impala shoot into a residence on Lancaster Avenue. The officer was able to get behind the suspect vehicle and coordinate for other officers to respond to where the vehicle was driving. As other officers arrived in the area, the suspect vehicle fled initiating a pursuit. Officers pursued the suspect vehicle on Charlotte Avenue where the driver ran the traffic light at Eden Terrace striking another car disabling the suspect vehicle. Officers were able to apprehend two suspects from the vehicle. A third suspect fled but was later apprehended. Rock Hill Police had traffic blocked at Charlotte Avenue and Myrtle Drive. Police conducted a ground and K9 search of the area to apprehend the third suspect. There are no other suspects being sought at this time. No one was injured as a result of the shooting. EMS responded and transported the two occupants from the car struck by the suspects as a precaution. Winthrop University issued a Campus Notification however at no time did a shooting occur on the campus. There was no threat to the campus of Winthrop University.
