Rock Hill Police arrested two male suspects Saturday afternoon after a woman reported her car being stolen at gunpoint at the Mallard Pointe Apartments. The victim advised that one suspect fled in her vehicle and the other fled on a moped. Officers located the 17-year-old male suspect on the moped within moments and were able to apprehend him after a brief foot chase near the Winthrop Coliseum. Officers arrested 18-year-old Jon’tarius Reid who was the driver and only occupant after a traffic stop on Cherry Road. Officers did recover a handgun from inside the vehicle during the traffic stop. Both suspects were transported to the Rock Hill Police Department where they were charged with Armed Robbery and Criminal Conspiracy. Reid was also charged with Possession of a Firearm During a Crime of Violence, Possession of a Stolen Handgun, and Unlawful Possession of a Handgun. The 17-year-old was charged as an Adult.
