The chairman of the Fort Mill School Board is kicking off his campaign for York County Council next week.

Patrick White says he will seek the Republican nomination for county council district five, which is currently occupied by nine-term GOP council member Curwood Chappell.

White’s campaign kickoff is scheduled to take place Wednesday, February 29th at 5 p.m. at Rock Hill’s Riverwalk.

In a news release, White says the current York County Council, “is not capitalizing on the many resources with which we are blessed.”

White says he wants to bring jobs back to York County through improved economic development, ensure a higher return on investments for all taxpayers, and assure taxpayers that the Pennies for Progress projects are completed on time and under budget.
