Police: woman shot in foot, husband arrested for DUI

Police say a woman was shot in the foot Tuesday night at a Rock Hill convenience store and her husband was arrested on drunk driving charges.

36-year-old Jeffery John Russell of Richburg is charged with DUI, violation of ABC laws, unlawfully carrying a weapon driving under suspension and having an open container.

Russell was booked into the Moss Justice Center on more than six-thousand-dollars bond.

A York County Sheriff’s Office report says deputies learned of a fight at the Marathon Gas Station on Springdale Road about eight P-M.  When they responded, deputies found a woman sitting on the ground at the gas station after being shot in her foot.  She was treated on the scene by EMS and taken to Piedmont Medical Center.

Meanwhile, Russell failed several field sobriety tests, but is not listed as a suspect in the shooting.
