Palmetto Mornings: 1/23/2012 Dr. Scott Huffmon & Glenn McCall

Dr. Scott Huffmon (Professor of Politcal Science -Winthrop University) and Glenn McCall (Chair, York County GOP & National Committeeman for SC) joined us to recap the SC Primary and talk about Florida.

During our conversation, McCall mentioned that, depsite media reports that Florida is a “winner take all” delegate state, because of the rules involving states that chose early Primary dates would have to be “proportional” delegate states.  South Carolina was a “proportional” delegate state according to these rules.  It is important to note that McCall was on the RNC Rules Committee and understood that Florida, as  South Carolina, would also have to be proportional.

Shortly after this interview aired, McCall called a fellow committee member in Florida for clarification.  After speaking with Paul Senft, National Committeeman for Florida, McCall informed Palmetto Mornings about the dispute in Florida about the interpretation involving delegate distribution.
