Lindemann heading to jail before federal prison sentence
Former York County Councilman Paul Lindemann will be in a county jail until he reports to federal prison in April for lying on a mortgage application.
US District Court Judge Cameron Currie said in federal court in Columbia Friday morning that she plans to move up the date Lindemann must report to the Federal Bureau of Prisons.
Currie says she’s doing that because Lindemann violated the conditions of his bond when he was arrested earlier this week for driving under the influence and leaving the scene of an accident. Until then, the 32-year-old married father will remain in custody at the Lexington County Jail.
Currie told Lindemann he was a danger to the community and that she’s very sorry for his wife. Last month Currie sentenced Lindemann to 18 months in prison for the mortgage felony.
She had agree to let him remain free on bond until April first because his wife is expecting a baby next month.
