500+ drivers cited for violations New Year’s weekend

State and local law enforcement officers wrote hundreds of tickets during the New Year’s holiday weekend.

The state Department of Public Safety says 473 tickets were written in York County.  Nine of those were for driving under the influence, while 147 were for seat belt violations.

Officers also issued 423 warnings.  In Lancaster County, 178 tickets were written along with 235 warnings.  Ten of the tickets were for DUI and 63 were for seatbelt violations.  In Chester County, 94 tickets were written and 126 warnings were handed out.

Four of the tickets were for DUI violations.
