York woman arrested in Florida woman’s murder

A York woman accused of killing another woman in Florida has been arrested at her home.

40-year-old Patty Michelle White is believed to have beaten and strangled 67-year-old Michele O’Dowd of Jacksonville.

O’Dowd’s twin brother found his sister in her apartment Friday when she didn’t show up for work.

Jacksonville police investigated and followed leads to White… who had recently moved back to York.  White allegedly took O’Dowd’s debit card to a few ATMs and withdrew cash.  Those transactions were caught on camera.

York Police Chief Andy Robinson says Jacksonville officers arrived in York Friday.  Local police had been watching White’s home and pulled her over.

She agreed to go with officers and confessed to the murder.

White is in the Moss Justice Center awaiting extradition back to Florida.
