SC-DHEC announces 1,346 new cases of COVID-19, percent positive is 19.1%

1,346 new cases of COVID were announced by SC-DHEC, Friday afternoon. York County had 53, Lancaster County had 13 and Chester County had 9. 7,065 people were tested for the virus on Thursday and 19.1% tested positive.
45 additional confirmed deaths were also announced with one dating back to July 14th. The deaths included an elderly Chester County individual.
SC-DHEC is reporting an 89% recovery rate from COVID-19 (down 1% from Tuesday). This means that of the 88,523 total cases there are 9,556 active cases, 77,319 people have recovered and 1,647 people have died. The death rate is 1.86%.
