South Carolina Governor Henry McMaster this afternoon lifted bans on concerts, movies and sporting events and will allow 50% capacity or 250 people, whichever is less. Those who attend an event must wear a mask.

He said this applies to High School Football, but the South Carolina High School League must still decide if football will be played.

McMaster also announced that a recommendation to keep restaurant occupancy at 50% is now law. Employees and customers will have to wear masks, tables must be 6 feet apart, with no more than 8 per table. Not following the rules can now be charged as a misdemeanor offense.

It is now required for masks to be worn inside state buildings beginning August 3rd. McMaster called for local government to enact their own mask ordinances and noted that 60% already had.
