Construction is expected to begin on Miracle Park in the next month. Those are the words of Warren Norman who is helping head up the project, which will provide a complex focused towards those with disabilities.
Norman said they brought a group down to Columbia on Tuesday to present to the State Fiscal Accountability Authority who approved the ground lease between the County’s Disabilities Foundation and Winthrop University.
They hope to have the first phase of the project open by summer of 2020, but Norman said the construction plan will depend on the weather.
They will not have to go before City Council again. The Park will be located next to the Winthrop Coliseum. Norman said now it is a matter of signing documents and beginning construction.
