York Tech names 15 to inaugural class of presidential scholars

York Technical College’s inaugural class of 15 presidential scholars was introduced in Rock Hill Thursday.
York Tech President Greg Rutherford said some of the best of the best in the professional world began their education at local community or technical colleges.
The presidential scholars program prepares participants for success at a four-year university and beyond.

[audio: 130725-Grant-A.mp3]York Tech’s presidential scholars are provided with a scholarship that covers the full cost of tuition and textbooks, along with iPads, faculty mentors, leadership and cultural opportunities.
This year’s class of scholars includes one student from Rock Hill, three from Fort Mill, one from Tega Cay, four from York, four from Clover, one from Lake Wylie and one from Chester.
