State Representative Ralph Norman of Rock Hill says in a letter to residents and customers of Carolina Water Service that is very disturbing that three subdivisions, two in York County, were found with excessive lead levels in their water supplies.

The letter follows a report in the State newspaper that the amount of lead in the water was up to four times above the federal standard.

The newspaper report says subsequent tests found that the amount of lead had fallen to safe levels.

However, Norman is asking his constituents to hold a public forum in Lake Wylie in the next three weeks with representatives of the South Carolina Public Service Commission, representatives of the testing agency that found the lead in the water supplies, Chamber of Commerce members and members of the York County legislative delegation.
