WRHI has learned that there is going to be a special called meeting of the Rock Hill School Board members on Monday morning. The meeting seems to be about the recent news of a County Councilman saying that the Rock Hill School District did in fact have conversations with members of the County Council about the 1.5 billion dollar investment of Octapharma and the re-allocation and share of the City of Rock Hill’s tax incentives/dollars. This is after weeks of turmoil between County Council as they have changed the agreement multiple times slashing The City of Rock Hill’s share at one point by 100%, to the eventual agreement that sees it being cut by 85%. That remaining share would go to the Rock Hill Schools in the amended agreement that was voted on back on Wednesday. This of course also comes after the attorney for the City of Rock Hill sent a letter to the County saying it’s unlawful to do so and change the agreement. WRHI has knowledge of at least two board members saying to multiple people that they had no knowledge of any discussions between the School District and the York County on the Fee in Lieu tax agreement.
