FORMER YORK COUNTY COUNCILMAN CHAD WILLIAMSFILES TO RUN FOR SC SENATE

Rock Hill, SC – Chad Williams, longtime community servant, county councilmember, planning commission member, and business owner, was the first to file for the SC unexpired Senate District 15 seat on July 10.
Williams announced his intent to run for the seat June 15, and a week later, the incumbent Senator transmitted his resignation to Senate leadership, with an effective date of November 3.
Senate District 15 represents approximately 87,200 residents in York County, including York, Rock Hill and McConnells. Filing for the seat closes July 18, per the South Carolina Election Commission.
Williams released the following statement about his filing:
I’ve never believed leadership is about being the loudest voice in the room. It’s about listening, serving, and bringing people together to solve problems.
For more than 30 years, I’ve built a business here, raised my family here, served my country, and worked alongside our community on County Council. Those experiences have strengthened my belief that we have far more in common than what divides us.
South Carolina needs leaders who can build bridges, earn trust, and put people ahead of politics.
I’m ready to continue serving, and I’d be honored to have your support along the way.
