Mallory Dittmer has defeated Andrew Clough to win the Democratic nomination for Congress in District SC-05. A resident of Fort Mill, Dittmer launched her campaign in October of 2025 promising to lead with civility and bring practical problem-solving and accountability to Congress. Since then she has spent extensive time in each of the 10 counties in District 5, attracting an enthusiastic bipartisan following and recruiting more than 830 volunteers.

“With this win we are now one step closer to realizing the change voters across District 5 desperately want- an end to the chaos, corruption and gridlock in Washington that keeps South Carolinians stuck in a cost of living emergency with no relief in sight. I’m ready to get to work in Congress, to address affordability, prioritize people over party and find common-sense solutions that actually make life better for us all,” Dittmer said. “To every voter who put their faith in me – Democrats, Republicans and Independents – I thank you. I will continue to fight for you, your families and your future. Together we can bring real change to Congress.”

Dittmer, 40, was an outspoken opponent of the proposed mid-decade Congressional redistricting and instrumental in the early voting drive that contributed to its defeat in the South Carolina Senate. Among other policy positions (check out dittmerforcongress.com) she’s a passionate advocate for independent redistricting and an end to partisan gerrymandering. She will face Republican nominee Wes Climer in the general election November 3.
