JERMAINE JOHNSON CONGRATULATES ALAN WILSON, SAYS SOUTH CAROLINA VOTERS DESERVE CHANGE

COLUMBIA, S.C. – Democratic gubernatorial nominee Dr. Jermaine Johnson congratulated Attorney General Alan Wilson on winning the Republican nomination for Governor of South Carolina and welcomed him to the general election campaign.
“I congratulate Attorney General Wilson on his victory and look forward to a robust discussion about the future of South Carolina,” Johnson said. “This election offers voters a clear choice between more of the same and a new generation of leadership focused on solving problems and delivering results.”
Johnson noted that Wilson has been a statewide officeholder for more than a decade and is closely associated with the Republican establishment that has controlled the South Carolina government for years.
“South Carolinians know that our state has tremendous potential, but too many families are struggling with rising costs, underfunded schools, limited healthcare access, and economic opportunities that aren’t reaching every community. After years of one-party control, voters deserve to ask whether the same political leadership can deliver different results.”
Johnson said his campaign will focus on practical solutions that improve people’s lives rather than partisan fights.
“I am running because I believe South Carolina can lead the nation in education, workforce development, economic growth, and innovation. We need leadership that puts people first and is willing to challenge the status quo when it isn’t working.”
Johnson emphasized his commitment to building a coalition that includes Democrats, Republicans, and independent voters who want a more prosperous and inclusive future for the state.
“The people of South Carolina are ready for a governor who will listen, lead, and work tirelessly on their behalf. I look forward to taking that message to voters in every county between now and Election Day.”
