Huge Life Sciences Project Coming To Rock Hill

It appears the City of Rock Hill is close to “landing” that HUGE Life-sciences project they’ve wanted for the “Palmetto Research Park” on I-77. York County Council TONIGHT will take the 1st of 3 required votes on an incentive package that includes a “fee in lieu” of taxes agreement. A “fee in lieu” is a long standing vehicle to make taxes on manufacturers in SC competitive with lower taxes from surrounding states..The unnamed pharmaceutical project is estimated to be $1.5 billion in scope that will create over time more than 1200 jobs with an average wage in excess of $140,000…County Council will also vote tonight to approve a $65 million grant from the State of South Carolina which will go towards this project that includes a corporate headquarters and manufacturing facility
