The future of emergency care is coming to the residents of Indian Land and surrounding communities. Piedmont Medical Center announced its plans to open a free-standing emergency department. Located on U.S. Highway 521, this facility will be the first and only emergency department in Indian Land, designed to deliver fast, efficient and high-quality emergent medical services to patients – 24/7, 365 days a year. The emergency department will be an extension of Piedmont Medical Center Rock Hill and Piedmont Medical Center Fort Mill, offering the same personal emergency medicine access for the growing community of Indian Land and greater Lancaster County. Per a release, it says the 10,000 Square-foot facility will be fully equipped with the latest modern technology including 12 private exam rooms, dedicated trauma rooms and a triage area. It will also feature an ambulance bay to support the needs of EMS and first responders. The free-standing emergency department is expected to open in spring 2026, Piedmont Medical Center will share the progress and milestones throughout the project’s development.
