York Police investigating their first homicide since 2022
Detectives with the York Police are conducting their first homicide investigation since 2022. Saturday shortly after 9:30pm, YPD officers responded to a shots fired call for service in the 200 block Galilean Road. Upon arrival, officers discovered a male victim with a gunshot wound. EMS pronounced the 21 year old male victim, Jai’Shaun Young of Gastonia, NC deceased at the scene.Autopsy and toxicology will be completed this week with results pending. The investigation is active and ongoing as no criminal charges have been filed yet.
