Lash Group awaits one more approval by council to allow changes to how much it pays in taxes

The Lash Group in Kingsley needs just one more approval by York County Council to allow changes to an agreement which determines how much the company pays in taxes. The agreement is from 2015 and would reduce by 55% the number of new jobs the company is required to create. However, the reduction would be based on the more than double overall investment to the county. The Lash Group had initially committed to creating 2,200 new full time jobs in 5 years, and 80 million of investment in land, personal property and buildings. Per this new agreement, the Lash group was not able to reach certain requirements due to the Pandemic and other reasons. The change reduces the job requirement to 1,000 full-time positions. The company in Fort Mill has invested 167 million more than double its requirement which would create more tax revenue for the county.
