49-year-old Preston Caldwell of Chester, was charged with two counts of Attempted Murder and Possession of a Knife During a Crime of Violence. Rock Hill Police Officers were dispatched to a disorderly at the Ace Energy Mart on Cherry Rd Sunday. While officers were en route, dispatch advised that a stabbing had occurred. Officers arrived to find a 22-year-old female victim on the ground suffering from a stab wound to the shoulder. Another victim, a 33-year-old male, was trying to provide aid to the female. The male had a stab mark on his clothing but no injuries. The female victim was taken by EMS to PMC to be treated for a non-life-threatening wound. Officers approached Caldwell however he fled from the scene. Officers were able to locate Caldwell nearby and take him into custody without incident. It was learned that all three were at the gas station when Caldwell physically attacked both victims later stabbing the female and attempting to stab the male.
