Lancaster Duracell facility winding down operations by mid-2019
Duracell is closing its production facility in Lancaster in the next three years, displacing 400 workers.
A statement from the company says it’s consolidating North American production of AA and AAA batteries from two US plants to one in LaGrange, Georgia.
That means the Lancaster plant, which makes AA batteries, will wind down production and end operations in mid-2019.
Duracell says that shutdown will be completed in phases beginning in March 2017.
