Carolina Classical Academy Appoints Head of School

ROCK HILL, SC – Carolina Classical Academy enters a new era as the school officially announces its new Head of School: Mrs. Christina Holzer. Drawing on her experience in school leadership through her prior role as Carolina Classical’s Dean of Academics, Mrs. Holzer brings a deep belief in the school’s mission and a dedication to driving excellence within the school community.
Having already served as a pillar of the school’s leadership team, Mrs. Holzer shared that stepping into the role of Head of School is both an honor and a joy.
“Over the past few years, I have had the privilege of getting to know your children and many of you, and that has deepened my love for this school and community,” said Mrs. Holzer. “Carolina Classical is a special place, and I am grateful for the opportunity to serve it in this new capacity.”
Once she moves into her new role, Mrs. Holzer plans to continue to grow and create even richer opportunities for students. She hopes to fundamentally strengthen the partnerships between the school and local families, elevating Carolina Classical Academy to an entirely new level of academic and cultural excellence.
“I believe the best schools are built through strong partnerships between families, teachers, staff, and school leadership,” said Mrs. Holzer. “I look forward to working alongside each of you in the years ahead.”
Mrs. Holzer’s appointment underscores Carolina Classical Academy’s ongoing commitment to developing students into independent and responsible individuals through Classical education.
“Mrs. Holzer has been an integral part of our school’s journey, and she truly embodies the heart of the crucial work that is happening within our classrooms,” said Maria Kunisch, Vice Chair of Carolina Classical Academy. “As we continue this exciting new chapter of independence, the board has full confidence that her leadership will continue to move our academy forward.”
This announcement comes less than two months after Carolina Classical Academy established itself as an independent school with a locally governed board. Far from just a change in name, this new phase is driving massive momentum as the academy reintroduces itself to local families, expands its footprint, and builds a stronger, more connected community.
