Fort Mill moves ahead with plan to purchase water from Rock Hill
Town leaders in Fort Mill have approved a new 30-year agreement with the City of Rock Hill to purchase water as a wholesale customer.
The proposed agreement comes after more than two years of negotiations between Fort Mill and Rock Hill to supply treated water drawn from the Catawba River.
Water will be sold to Fort Mill customers at the same rate offered to City of Rock Hill customers.
Town Manager David Hudspeth says the decision is one that will serve the town well for years to come.

Hudspeth says that the agreement is “mutually beneficial” to both parties.
