A Rock Hill teenager was arrested last week after police say she put hand sanitizer in her teacher’s water bottle.

Tuesday afternoon, a 27-year-old teacher at Rawlinson Road Middle School said she took a sip from her water bottle and noticed it tasted like hand sanitizer.

A Rock Hill police report says the teacher took a closer look at the bottle and noticed the gel-like substance in the straw.

A day later, another student came up to the teacher and said a fellow classmate was telling other students that she was the culprit and, “did not care” if the teacher died.” Officers spoke with the juvenile, who denied any wrongdoing.

The teen, whose name was not released due to her age was charged with 2nd degree Assault and Battery and released to the custody of her mother.
