ROCK HILL — The York Economic Development Board Tuesday approved a targeted industries study that will be conducted by a Raleigh, North Carolina-based consulting firm.

County Economic Development Director Mark Farris says the study will find businesses and industries that match the county’s strengths and the opportunities it provides for expansion and relocation.

Farris says there will be a continued emphasis on some of those areas… but also others.

Farris says the targeted industries study will begin in January and take about three to four months to complete.

He says the York County Economic Development Board will split the 28-thousand dollar cost of the study with the South Carolina Palmetto Economic Development Corporation.
