Hundreds turn out to see replica of Vietnam Veteran’s Memorial
An estimated 500 people turned out at Fort Mill’s Walter Elisha Park Thursday evening to see a half-size mobile replica of the Vietnam Veteran’s Memorial.
The 250′ replica, dubbed “The Wall that Heals”, has traveled to more than 350 cities since 1996, including Rock Hill.
The Fort Mill History Museum is hosting the exhibit through the weekend.
Fort Mill lost 11 soldiers in the Vietnam War, the highest death rate per capita in South Carolina.
The exhibit arrived Tuesday with a motorcycle escort Tuesday.
