Ryder Cup Update
After Friday’s seven-plus hour weather delay, the format for the remainder of the Ryder Cup at Celtic Manor was changed. The opening four ball matches will be completed Saturday morning, but instead of four foursomes matches after that, there will be six foursomes matches featuring every player on both teams. The third session will be two foursomes matches and four four ball matches. The fourth and final session will be the 12 singles matches, scheduled for Sunday. Essentially what it will mean is that no player will sit out at all, starting with Saturday’s six foursomes matches. The third session probably won’t be over until Sunday morning, but there is time allotted to finish before the singles. This change is to try and finish the Ryder Cup by Sunday. The matches today were suspended with the USA leading 2, Europe 1 and 1 match all squared.
