Possible new Campground looking for zoning in York County

Another option for outdoor camping could be on the way in York County. There is an owner of 20 acres at Woodland Park road in Smyrna who is looking to develop the property into a 40 site campground which would include RV’s. Thursday, the County zoning board of appeals will hear the case. The property however does still need special exception from the board to allow the campground. This is the same area and property that had camping in the 1990s and was known as Woodlands Campground. Still on the property are concrete swimming pools, an acre pond, buildings and even restrooms. On the proposed site plan, the project shows 17 sites with a bathhouse. A private residence is also near the site. There also appears to be an area of 7 acres marked for future expansion
