OTS Media Takes Thirteen Statewide Broadcaster’s Association Awards

OTS Media brought home 13 awards from the South Carolina Broadcasters’ Association at the annual STAR Awards over the weekend. WRHI received 12 of the awards, which was the state’s highest total for an individual Radio station. The annual awards are presented to Radio and Television stations around the state with STAR Awards presented for 1st place and Award of Merit for 2nd place.
WRHI picked up the coveted Richard Uray Service Project of the Year for Toys For Happiness, it marked the 3rd time Toys For Happiness has received the STAR award in this category. Chris Miller won a Sportscaster of The Year Award for the 13th time by bringing home the STAR Award in the category (10th career STAR Award in this category). Lucas McFadden, Ashley Lang, Alex Greenawalt and Tyler Cupp’s work on Palmetto Mornings earned the Award of Merit for Broadcast Morning Team Of the Year. Straight Talk w/ Manning Kimmel was the Award of Merit winner in the Public Affairs category. Chris Miller, Matt Hiers, and Chet Tucker’s coverage of the 2022 Northwestern Football State Championship game won the Award of Merit for Convergence Coverage. Jen Symons, Catherine Madden, and Steven Stone won the STAR Award for Commercial of The Year for Bio-One of Charlotte. Allison Cleveland, Ethan Cleveland, and Allan Miller won the STAR Award for Multi-Spot Commercial of the Year for ChristmasVille. Allan Miller and Steven Stone won the STAR Award for Promo of the Year for 2022 Great Easter Egg Classic. Allan Miller, Steven Stone, and Jackson Taylor won the STAR Award for PSA of the Year for Toys For Happiness. Johnathon Brown, Catherine Madden, and Jackson Taylor won the Award of Merit for Commercial of the Year for Johnathon Brown Electric. The PSA Award of Merit went to Tyler Cupp and Ashley Hiers for Counseling Services of Lancaster. The Award of Merit in the Promo Category went to Allan Miller and Steven Stone for Boo-HaHa 2022. Tyler Cupp and Dean Kellum won the Award of Merit for Multi-Spot Commercial of the Year.
Around the state, WSPA-FM in Greenville was named Radio Station of the Year with WFMV-FM in Columbia winning the Award of Merit. WIS-TV of Columbia was named Television Station of the Year with WLTX-TV of Columbia winning the Award of Merit.
