Winthrop’s Kelton Talford Named Big South Player Of The Week

Rock Hill, S.C. – Winthrop junior forward Kelton Talford has been tabbed the Big South Conference Men’s Basketball Player of the Week, announced Monday afternoon by the league office.
Last week the Eagles were 1-1 as Talford averaged 23.5 ppg, 8.0 rpg, 1.0 apg, 1.0 spg while shooting 77 percent from the floor. He opened the week with a career-high 28 points in the win over South Carolina State. He also had nine rebounds, four of which were on the offensive glass. In the loss at Furman, Talford posted 19 points and seven rebounds as he was 8-of-10 from the field.
Talford has been in double-figures in all 10 games he’s played this season and scored at least 14 points in all of them.
This is the first time Talford has earned the weekly honor for the Big South and also the first Eagle to do so this season.
