Former NFL star from York County spending over 10 years in jail

A former NFL player from the York County will spend over 10 years in federal prison for distribution of heroin in Rock Hill. Justin Maurice Rainey, 36 was sentenced Tuesday in federal court to 126 months in prison by US District Court Judge Mary Geiger Lewis. It includes five years of supervision after his release from prison. Rainey was arrested by FBI Agents in Rock Hill in July of 2019. He pleaded guilty to possession of more than 100 grams of a heroin mixture with intent to distribute. Rainey then waived any right to appeal when he pleaded guilty.
