[media-credit id=18 align=”alignright” width=”300″][/media-credit]Candidates with the backing of their respective political party certainly had the upper hand Tuesday, as York County Council’s District 2 race was handily won by the GOP incumbent.

Bruce Henderson was elected to another term on council, beating out petition challenger John Rinehart, Sr.

Henderson says the newness of elected office has since worn off, and even with five new members in the last year, the council is better focused.

Henderson’s challenger, John Rinehart was one of more than 200 candidates knocked off the primary ballot earlier this year, leading to his running as a petition candidate.
