More than 200 candidates for local and state office were nixed from ballots all across South Carolina Friday, including six candidates here in York County after the State Supreme Court said they incorrectly filed paperwork to run for office.

Among those include Republican county council candidates John Rinehart Sr. and Gary Williams, York County Coroner candidate David Blanton and State House candidate Raye Felder.

On the Democratic side, county council candidates Roy Blake and Jessica Lynn were also dropped from the ballots after records show the six did not file economic income statements to the state ethics commission by the March 30 deadline.

Martin has called for an emergency meeting next week to try to fix the problem.
