The May 1st event is set for the Baxter Hood Center. Organizers are also setting up a bi-partisan effort to host a mini-convention also at the Baxter Hood Center giving attendees the opportunity to experience the event without the security and traffic hurdles.

Mary Francis Morton, also of SC in 2012, is working to coordinate statewide efforts outside of York County.

Morton says the committee is bi-partisan and is looking to show off the entire state of South Carolina with a mini-convention at the Baxter Hood Center the night President Obama delivers his acceptance speech. Other efforts include coordinating statewide tours to Charleston and Myrtle Beach — and local tours too at historic Brattonsville.
