DiGiorgio retiring after 2012-2013 school year
Winthrop University president Anthony DiGiorgio said his tenure of the Rock Hill school will end following the next academic year. 
DiGiorgio broke the news to the university faculty and staff this morning in a video release, and addressed the media this afternoon.
DiGiorgio says he and his wife, Gale, have enjoyed their time serving as the president and first lady of the 127-year-old school.

[audio: 0320-Lee-A.mp3]DiGiorgio says his major disappointment as president has been the inability to build a new campus library. Board of Trustees Chairman Dalton Floyd says he’s NOT confident that’s going to change.

The search process is expected to take about 15 months.
