Rock Hill Schools looking at smartphones, tablets in classroom
Rock Hill School District leaders are embracing the proliferation of students with cell phones as a way to use them as an educational tool in the classroom.

[/media-credit]District spokeswoman Elaine Baker tells WRHI the board met last night to review a proposal to set the groundwork for allowing smartphones, tablet devices and laptops where they can be used to enhance a lesson or project.
Baker says that they’re looking into possibly renting or leasing some devices to students who can’t afford them, much like one would with a band instrument.
