March brings mixed economic news locally
Some mixed news on the job front statewide and locally.
York County’s unemployment rate climbed six-tenths of a percent in January to 11.5 percent. Chester County’s rate rose three-tenths of a percent in January to 15.1 percent.In Lancaster County, the jobless rate in January held steady at 12-point-seven percent.
Meanwhile, South Carolina’s unemployment rate fell three-tenths of a percent in January to nine-point-three percent.
The number of unemployed people in the Palmetto State was just over 200-thousand in January, the lowest level since November 2008.
