Suspect arrested in recent Lancaster homicide

A Charlotte man has been charged with the murder of a Lancaster woman.
Cynthia Barnes, 47, was found dead in her Lancaster home two weeks ago. According to reports, Barnes had been stabbed and shot multiple times.
After investigation with various Law Enforcement Agencies, including The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department, authorities were led to arrest Roger L. Baskins in connection with the murder.
The 39-year-old was taken into custody today and charged with murder, possession of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime and possession of a firearm by a person convicted of a violent crime.
At the time of his arrest, it was discovered that Baskins had a pre-existing, self inflicted injury on his wrist.
He is currently in critical condition at Carolinas Medical Center.
